WW2 Drawings

An amazing source of drawings of tanks, planes, ships and other weapons frequently found in pocket war comics.
Really has nothing to do with comics I just think it's an interesting site.

Moustache Monday!

A smart uniform deserves a smart moustache.Sadly despite his high rank and his ability to afford a good tailor this square headed fellow has failed to impress with his poor excuse for a moustache.
In order to look good one has to care. If one only has limited time or limited resources then spending time on one's moustache will return dividends way in excess of the time invested.  This fellow clearly has little or no focus on his priorities.

Only if he spent as much attention to grooming as he has to arranging his campaign ribbons! Then perhaps that may be young lady knocking on his back door instead of a zatfig Englishman.

There's more to life than squareheads.

The number of simply superb Spanish and Italian illustrators and painters, who refined their craft in the UK comics of the 1950s-70s is simply astonishing.

Cloud 109 describes in Boot Camp for Artists that there was more to artists professional lives than drawing an M1935 on top of your typical squarehead.

Moustache Monday!

Ah... the pencil thin moustache much maligned as the sole providence of the spiv is seen here in all it's glorious versatility.  Usually associated with a too-smart suit and slicked down hair the pencil thin is seen here equally at home with wind swept hair and a collar turned up against the elements.
This excellent trimmed example comes to us from War at Sea Picture Library 1 The Devil's Cargo.
Moustaches is there nothing they can't do?

Dead Snow

For every avalanche that buries a bunch of Nazis something like this is bound to happen once every now and again...

Moustache Monday!

A young flying chap knows he has to earn his right to enter the select few who sport a bit o' tash. Here we see the more experienced man showing a young chap they way it's done. Education and grooming can be tricky. However under the influence of the steady hand the young fellow will no doubt be soon sporting the right look to emulate his fellow flyers. There's never any pressure to conform. This fine example of showing the way comes to us from Air Ace Picture Library 316 Flying Joker.

Moustache Monday!

Waxing is not only the domain of the ladies. A man of tash knows how to both wax and twist (or twiddle if you are not afraid to use everyday language).

This fine example of waxing, grooming and fine rotational tensioning adorns the club barman in Air Ace Picture Library 115 The Reluctant Enemy.

Yes he is an angry man. Don't allow that or his excellent collection of libations distract you from the fact that there is considerable effort required to allow a mo of that specificity to be so perfectly placed under the nose.

If applied judiciously wax can be a mans best friend.
