Moustache Monday!

Now is the time to man-up! The call has gone out the enemy have broken through.

Time to straighten the tie, brush the teeth, comb the hair, shave the cheeks and stay neat at all costs. A lessor man would have trouble. He would find it difficult. He would make excuses. He might panic. A man with a moustache knows only one course -action. He knows to be prepared. He knows to get ready. He knows above all that it is the time to stand up and address the other men with the truth.

The time for pandering and idleness is over. The only time available is the time for action. That time is now! How long before the enemy arrive? One day, one week, one month? Who can say? But what can be said is that he will be met. The fight will be won by those who are ready...and neat.

Ever Wanted to Own a Spitfire?

As many as 140 Second World War Spitfire fighter planes — three to four times the number of airworthy models known to exist — are believed to be buried in near-pristine condition in Burma, also known as Myanmar.
A British-Burma partnership says it will begin digging them up by the end of the month.
The go-ahead for excavation came earlier this week when the Burmese government signed an agreement with British aviation enthusiast David J. Cundall and his local partner. Cundall, a farmer and businessman, earlier this year announced he had located 20 of the planes...

Aagh! of the Week

This AAGH!, well really AAAAGH!!, is brought to you by Max Kassel and his crew. Who would have thought it, that submarining could be so dangerous?

May your eagerness not be ruined by some rude gate crasher in a Hudson.

Squareheads. Is this the squarest?

Does this man have the squarest head or what? Clearly a man of some importance as he doesn't have to wear a hat inside.
He also must be a bad guy as he's telling the good guys what he is about to do.
But enough of that! Look at the right angles on this man's scone. You could set a house with that thing. No wonder he doesn't wear a hat - all the other boys would be making jokes about square pegs and round holes and all that...

Moustache Monday!

It's too easy this time. Ask an ancient moustache a serious question and you are bound to receive a serious answer. However be warned.
Cynicism and whimsy may be hiding behind that grey upper lip soup strainer. Much bouillabaisse has passed beneath that tash for its owner to be careful when answering questions from armed men.
Old onion seller or not, man in disguise or otherwise the man of moustache is aware of his power in this situation. He understands that sometimes he must provide comfort and offer reassurance to men in uniform in language they understand.

A Humber Called Jane

This is the story of Jane the Humber. Jane likes nothing more than tearing around the battlefield having a good old blast.

See Jane drive fast.

Jane likes to go fast.

Explosions are all around Jane but she is not afraid. Jane likes explosions.

Her engines go vroom vroom, her guns go pow pow pow.

Even though Jane likes to fight that doesn't mean she doesn't like to be pretty. See her name painted on her front? See her painted clubs symbol too? Jane likes to fly her pennets as she goes vroom vroom and pow pow pow.

Mr Soldier likes to join in too. Can you see him with his gun? He is having fun. He shouts rat-a-tat-tat as Jane goes vroom vroom and pow pow pow. They are the best of friends.
Some very bad men get angry with Jane. But she doesn't care. She can go faster then them and shoot them with her gun. Mr Soldier doesn't like the bad men because they try and hurt Jane. He tells them to go away and he shoots them with his machine gun.
Mr Soldier and Jane are friends. They go vroom vroom pow pow and rat-a-tat-tat and have such wonderful fun together.

Moustache Monday!

When a man is broken by a moustache he is usually broken for good. No amount of stoicism or charm will delay in the inevitable descent into the abyss. Yet sometimes and only sometimes a second chance is given.

The second chance.

These are very rare in life. So rare that their utility is squandered by those fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. However what to do when they are given to you by a man sporting the excellent upper lip broom as seen here on the left.

A normal man would take the second chance for all it is worth. He however would be a fool. The smart man when gifted the opportunity by a moustache would do the wise thing and hand it back.

I've nothing to say

Tiger Tank Profile Number 2

More Tiger tanks this time from Battle Picture Library 13 Battle Order. Well actually it's really only the one Tiger tank found at the begining of the story.

Another good job of illustrating this large hunk of metal.

There's a small bonus at the end of the sequence when a Cromwell turns up to ruin the party. I guess you don't get to see too many of those in a comic books.

Now only if I can find more of them...

Moustache Monday!

Up front! Square on! Straight out! These are the qualities required in a man if he is to command. Ordered, organised and obvious are the traits that demand more of that attention.

Observe the fine fellow to the left. He can take a jumble of words which inherently in themselves have little or no meaning.  As a test take a facsimile or transcription of these words and enter your local public house and repeat them word for word. Or travel to your local sporting man’s association and engage some of the chaps there with the directions contained herein.

The results will be less then complimentary as no doubt several gruff fellows will man handle you and send you spluttering to the kerb. Even worse you may be either ignored or treated with absolute indifference.

But if you were this man the other chaps would understand every word and willingly act on your command.

What makes it so? More than knowing what men want. He speaks as much from the heart as he does from the moustache.

Moustache Monday!

Confrontation. When the new boy with the coif wants to stick it to the moustache man what happens? The moustache knows that some fellows are always on the look out for the next big one - the only solution is to unbutton the shirt perfect the gaze and return the challenge. Some would say that the man in authority should always be on the look out for those trying to make a quick score to boost their position among the rough and tumble. Not the true man of tash. He knows how to seize the moment, take on the new comer and welcome him to the gang.
